‘Serving is a Lifelong Commitment for Me’

VFW Life member Don Glenn is a veteran #StillServing out of VFW Post 10785 in Bellevue, Nebraska. During funeral services, Glenn and his fellow veterans will present a burial flag to the family and fire the traditional rifle salute for their fallen comrade.

Believing in the power of community, Glenn keeps himself busy all over Bellevue. He has volunteered with his local Kiwanis Club, Habitat for Humanity, Special Olympics, and church over the years. Recently, Glenn and other members of Post 10785 painted the tank at the Eastern Nebraska Veterans Home, a specialized care facility near their post for older veterans.

“I’m #StillServing because the call to serve others doesn’t end when your military service is over,” Glenn said. “It’s a lifelong commitment for me.”
