How are you Still Serving?

I serve proudly as the Delivery Manager for a local Non-Profit Chapter named Sleep in Heavenly Peace.

Why do you do it?

I was raised in a small town in rural N.C. where community was everything. We were always there to lend a hand and help our neighbors in need. After serving my nation for 20 years in the United States Navy, I retired and began serving my local community. The organization found me in 2022 and our mission is to make sure that every child in St. Mary's County Maryland has a warm and safe place to sleep every night. Some of these children have never had their own bed before, they've slept on mattresses on the floor, sleeping bags, blankets, sofas or with mom and dad. It's our duty as a member of any community to provide the best lives we can for our children but sometimes we need a little help. The minute these kids see their very own bed for the first time is nothing short of amazing.
