Where did you serve and what did you do?
I was deployed to Taji, Iraq in 2009-2010 in support of a detainee operations mission. As a medic, I worked in a military hospital that served both coalition forces and the detainees.
How are you #StillServing?
I continue to serve in the Wisconsin National Guard and have been activated as part of the state and Governor’s COVID-19 pandemic response. I am the NCOIC of a specimen collection team that has been traveling around the state performing free testing services. Currently, we are working on an enduring site (we don’t know when this testing site will end) in Milwaukee. Together, we have tested over 20,000 citizens and counting.
Why do you do it?
It felt good to serve my country while deployed to Iraq. It feels even better to help the citizens in your own backyard. I am honored to still serve and will continue to do so until I no longer can.
