Where did you serve and what did you do?
I served in Kandahar for the USMC working on avionics on CH-53E helicopters.
How are you #StillServing?
Currently Commander of Post 10047. We have been serving free meals to our communities with food donations from all over our valley twice a week with the help of volunteers. All food and carryout containers have been donated from several different places and we are serving at least 50 hot meals (and providing additional food to take home) every night we do this.
We also handed out over 75 boxes for Easter that included turkeys and all the food to go with an Easter meal, and toilet paper to veterans and spouses.
I have personally been sewing face masks to trade for food and take out containers, and to provide to our volunteers and veterans who are in need of PPE. After today I will have made and distributed over 100 masks.
We have been calling every member of our 1300 member post to check on their wellbeing and to update their contact information through this.
On top of overseeing critical repairs that needed to be done at the post to utilize this time we need to be down anyway.
Why do you do it?
Because I have the ability, volunteers, and resources to get this done, and because others do not. We have to take care of each other.
