Where did you serve and what did you do?
Various location during a 21 year 9 month Air Force, Air Traffic Controller career. This included two 11 month tours to Vietnam (68 & 70)
How are you #StillServing?
As the South Carolina VFW VAVS coordinator with the Myrtle Beach VA Clinic. I do what I can to help the clinic meet various needs. On occasion the clinic Volunteer Services Coordinator will contact me with a ‘wish-list’ of food and personal items they need for their veteran support programs and their food bank. Recently, I was contacted with such a list. Plus, they wer looking for items for the Salute to Veteran Patients Week program. Through donations, I was able to secure $1,500 in donations that covered most of the clinic list. I was also able to acquire 85 military logo’d shirts ($700 worth) for their Salute gift-bags. They were delivered to the clinic on February 9th.
Why do you do it?
I am a veteran. I understand there are many veterans and their families in need of help. It is also why I am a member of the VFW and why part of the VFW’S responsibility is to do what it can for fellow veterans, VFW members or not.
