Where did you serve and what did you do?
VFW Post 2836, at the request of the Ashtabula County Veterans Task Force, took on the needs for a disabled veteran in our community. Our veteran had not been to the doctor since he had his leg amputated over two years ago due directly to his unsafe mud rutted drive way. Our post raised the money through donations to clean up the drive way and contracted an excavation company to completely redo the drive way so our veteran can make his medical appointments.
How are you #StillServing?
We have plans to put in a new handicap ramp in the immediate future. The first week in May, and through out the summer, we are going to continue to assist this veteran my making his grounds and residence safe.
Why do you do it?
VFW Post 2836 has a very active base, if any one has a need, and we can be of assistance, we always try to be here.
