Where did you serve and what did you do?
USMC Tank commander in Vietnam 68 and 69 with 1st Tanks. 2nd Tanks in Camp Lejeune 65 to 68.
How are you #StillServing?
I started an organization called the Veterans Brotherhood. We take homeless veterans off the streets as soon as we hear about them. Many organizations help veterans but most take 3 days to 3 weeks to get them in their system. Our main concern is veteran suicide. We help veterans with fuel bills, electricity, rent, and a host of other issues. I mentor veterans and do talks on coping with PTSD and TBI.
I have 10 books in print. For one I was selected as “One of the fifty great writers you should be reading.” One won a bronze medal at Reader’s Favorite award ceremony in Miami. I write to educate, inspire, motivate and preserve history.
Why do you do it?
I started this organization because I suffer from PTSD and TBI from a very large anti-tank mine. I had such a hard time fitting back in. I don’t want to ever see anyone else have to go through what I did.
