The Animal Shelter that I adopted my soulmate from, said she was the second worse dog they ever had, Prin (Princess) was very unsociable and was extremely hyperactive. We were a perfect match. That Animal Shelter allows me to host “Veteran Dog Days at the Pound,” sometimes, staff members will ask me to introduce new tools for a dog’s toolbox so that it can be adopted. Sometimes, Veterans will hang out with me, they get new tools for their toolbox because they have to care and protect their dog on a leash. Veteran Dog Days at the Pound is a social event for Veterans and dogs.
Why do you do it?
I get to relive my days as a Marine Platoon Sergeant, the dogs have the same look in their eyes as my ‘Boots’ did. As “Veteran Dog Days at the Pound” matured, I have discovered it a perfect social environment for Veterans to hang out and talk.
