Where did you serve and what did you do?
I enlisted in the Army Security Agency (ASA) and served from July 1967 to July 1971. After Basic at Ft. Leonard Wood, MO, I took AIT at Ft. Devens, MA and then advanced AIT at the National Security Agency at Ft. Meade, MD. My overseas assignments were one-year at Tuslog Det 4 in Sinop, Turkey and two-years at the 12th ASAFS in Chitose, Japan. I completed my enlistment working at NSA for my remaining months in service.
How are you #StillServing?
I am a member of the Oak Forest Veterans Commission; Oak Forest VFW Post 4241 and American Legion Post 808 in Chicago, IL. My most significant contribution is being a member (1 of 135) on the Memorial Squad at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL. I have been volunteering there for over twelve years now since I retired. I am a Rifleman, Flag Presenter, Trustee on the Squad Board and Board Chaplain. We present Military Honors to our fallen Heroes on these hallowed grounds.
Why do you do it?
I enjoy volunteering and giving back, and I believe God has chosen me to help people in whatever manner it presents itself.
