Where did you serve and what did you do?
My military service included volunteering for the Global War on Terrorism, serving in the district reconstruction of Afghanistan, and mentoring the National Police. During my deployment, I helped develop the Police partnership to secure humanitarian relief for war-torn villages liberated from the Taliban regime, providing critical services such as electrical, water, farming, and municipal services. After my tour, tour, I continued to serve my community through disaster relief missions with the Illinois National Guard and by training soldiers for overseas deployments.
How are you #StillServing?
My commitment to service extends beyond the military career. I am a dedicated family man and actively involved in my children’s lives as a Scout leader and PTO volunteer at their school. As a Veteran, I am an Officer with the VFW and act as the bridge with all these organizations. Our partnership with local youth organizations allows us to reach a wider audience and have a greater impact on the community, creating a legacy of patriotism and civic responsibility that will endure for generations to come.
Why do you do it?
I believe that volunteerism is a powerful tool that strategically bridges different cultures and organizations, successfully unifying them to share the responsibility of serving others. And that by fostering a deep understanding of the sacrifices made by our veterans and the importance of serving our country, we can inspire the next generation of leaders to uphold the values of freedom, democracy, and equality.
