Next, the DD853 which later was transferred to the Turkish Navy, after serving 2 months on the ex-USS Roan as part of a mobile training team. The next assignment the DE1040 Newport, RI departed while in Montevideo, Uruguay and onto HQ ND Washington, DC and transferred to the Fleet Reserve. I was a Chief Machinist Mate, high-pressure steam propulsion, a marine mechanic in civilian terms.
How are you #StillServing?
At 83 yrs of age, I’m somewhat of an activist in my community of 300. I frequently walk or ride my MOBO trike around the sub-division which is a deeded community. I’ve lived here for 30 yrs, many of the homeowners have changed and have not passed on the deed regulation or understand the boundaries of their lot they are responsible for. I engage in conversation and refer them to a website “Next Door” where I have posted all the documents.
Why do you do it?
I have no official position but the HOA has passed its responsibilities to a Property Management Company that passes thru twice a year and issues violations by mail to the homeowners. Many of the minor things go unnoticed or are intermittent, there is a process to notify the PMC who will investigate or request the HOA to do so. The purpose of course is to keep our property values up and make our community a desirable place to live.
