Where did you serve and what did you do?

I served for over 22 years as a Navy Chaplain on Active Duty. I deployed to the North Arabian Gulf on Navy vessels four times. I was also deployed separate times to Kuwait, Iraq, Afghanistan, and the Philippines. I had the opportunity to serve both with Navy and Marine Corp units.

How are you Still Serving?

I currently work full-time as a federal prison chaplain. In this capacity I minister to the inmates and their spiritual needs, and I prepare them for their eventual return to life on the outside in your home town and mine.

Why do you do it?

I provide worship and faith group studies for all beliefs. I also facilitate training on how to be a good parent while in prison, and after they are released. Everything we do is focused on reducing recidivism and turning inmates away from a lifestyle of criminal behavior.
