Where did you serve and what did you do?
I served 21 years in the US Army in the engineers. I served in Korea, Germany and Ft Leonard Wood Mo. Some of my duties were as a heavy equipment repairman, squad leader, platoon sergeant, maintenance supervisor, and Drill sergeant.
How are you #StillServing?
I am the commander of VFW Post 7822, Puxico Mo, and for almost 15 years, a member of the Missouri state scouting team. I serve as the Chartered Organization Representative and Unit Commissioner with Scouts BSA, and Pack and Troop 4370, chartered by Post 7822.
Why do you do it?
As a scout growing up in Puxico, the VFW Post 7822, had a huge influence on me. My dad served a year as Commander, and convinced me to play Taps on a bugle for the Post honor guard at funerals for veterans. My dad, and other members of the VFW Post, and my scoutmaster always talked about giving back to my community and to other people. I really enjoy working with youth in the scouting program, and the VFW is all about doing what we can to assist veterans, their families, and the community we live in.
