Where did you serve and what did you do?
CV62 USS Independence as an Aviation Boatswains Mate, Andrews Air Force Base as part of C131 aircrew, NAS Jacksonville, FL Cecil Field.
How are you #StillServing?
As an avid motorcyclist, I felt the best way to help fellow veterans in need was on my motorcycle so a buddy of mine Larry Haynes and myself formed the VFW 8189 Riders Group. In just four months our membership has grown to fifty. We schedule rides once a month to raise money to help veterans in our community who are in need or have fallen on bad times. Our next scheduled ride is to contribute to Heroes on the Water a program that sends PTSD and disabled veterans on a fishing adventure.
Why do you do it?
One thing I realize is after my honorable discharge from the US Navy I would never be a civilian again. I am and will always be a US Veteran. This is my way to keep serving this great country. To be part of something bigger than myself.
