Where did you serve and what did you do?
VFW had the honor and privilege of delivering 15 snack baskets to deserving organizations. They have been working tirelessly on the frontlines during this COVID-19 pandemic. Our post wanted to show our love and appreciation for their dedicated selfless service. The following organizations were Fayetteville VA Medical Center, Fayetteville VA Clinic, Womack Army Medical Center, Cape Fear Valley Hospital, Highsmith Rainey Hospital, Moore Regional First Health Hospital, Robinson, Clark, Byars, and Hope Mills Medical Clinics, Fayetteville Police Department, Cumberland County Sheriff Department, and Spring Lake Police Department.
How are you #StillServing?
Even during this tough time for us, we are still serving the community. We continued with our annual Book Bag Giveaway, Halloween and snack bags for the neighborhood kids, and we sponsored families for Thanksgiving and Christmas. We are in the process of collecting items needed for our veterans in the NC State Veterans Nursing Home which will be delivered this month.
Why do you do it?
We do it for the love of our veterans and the community. We try our hardest to live by the motto “Veterans Helping Veterans”. We are well respected by our community and they know if there is an event going on, VFW Post 6018 will be represented.
