Where did you serve and what did you do?
As a 13B Sergeant in the U.S. Army, a Bronze Star recipient, I deployed to Saudi Arabia to serve during Operation Desert Shield/Storm; the Gulf War (1990-1991) as a Field Artillery Gunner Chief.
How are you #StillServing?
I retired as Chief Warrant Officer Two (920B) and immediately immersed myself in helping our communities. I currently am an active officer (Jr. Vice Commander) at our Post where we have orchestrated several events to promote our presence.
I volunteer with a nonprofit organization as Chief Financial Officer for Nehemiah House of Refugee that seeks to provide vital resources to young and older men attempting to return to society as positive contributors that may have been incarcerated or homeless, that sometimes include working with veterans. We provide annual scholarships to young men who have returned to school and applied themselves seeking further education.
I also am very active in our community, as an Elder at Eastpointe Christian Church. I am the saxophonist and bassist with our worship band.
Why do you do it?
Because I and those whom I am blessed to work with can.
