Army – Basic Trng @ Ft. Lewis, WA; AIT for Combat Engineers @ Ft. Leonard Wood, MO. Served 14 months in Vietnam with the 8th Engineer Battalion attached to 1st Cavalry Division @ Phuoc Vinh, VN from 10/68 – 1/70. Combat engineer/HHC company clerk
How are you #StillServing?
Post Commander of VFW Post 1797, Creston, IA Also an Iowa District 4 trustee and past District Commander for 4 years. Also serve on the Union County, IA Veterans Affairs Commission.
Why do you do it?
To provide service to veterans in our community. The pictures are from Post 1797 day of service by painting a shelter in Creston’s Rainbow Park, which is named in honor of the 42nd Rainbow Division from WW 1. Creston had several National Guard members serving in this unit during WW 1.
