Where did you serve and what did you do?
Iraq in 2004 -2005. I was a member for D Co, 101 Cav which was attached to the 69th Inf. We were then assigned to the 256 Brigade and trained up in Ft. Hood Tx. We deployed to Iraq in Sept 2004. While in Baghdad I served as the supply Sergeant for the company. Upon return the the states I was released off active duty and returned to my AGR position as the Battalion Supply Sergeant and closed the Battalion. I later was transferred to the 1/258 FA and retired in May 2011.
How are you #StillServing?
I have been serving the VFW in my post at 1st just as the adjutant and now I am Commander and Adjutant. I also serve as PA District 20 Commander for my 2nd year and I have been recently promoted to Membership. I am typically the guest speaker at the memorial services we hold in our community each year. We try to educate the public on what the military has done so they can enjoy their freedoms. I work with the school and have special education adults help out the American Legion in Milford, PA. They learn life skills that will help them when they go out on their own.
Why do you do it?
I do it to pay back the community for the support that they gave me and my family when I was deployed. I do it because I like helping the community.
