Where did you serve and what did you do?
I served in the Marine Corps for 20 years in many areas. I deployed to Iraq twice as a Communications Technician. Once in 2003 and again in 2006. I also served as a Congressional Fellow in Washington, D.C. where I served on the Senate VA Committee. I have been a volunteer EMT at multiple locations throughout my military career.
How are you #StillServing?
I serve on two local fire departments as an Advanced EMT on their ambulance. This is in addition to a full-time job.
Why do you do it?
I feel that using a skill that you have to improve the wellbeing of another is a duty we all should embrace. Being able to help those at the worst time in their life is rewarding. To be able to assist them by medical intervention or just being an ear for them to talk to is amazing. Giving back to the community that I love and that embraces the VFW is what makes a community whole.
