How are you Still Serving?

Jason Boyd is the Cert Coordinator for Smith County. He comes from Houston, Texas, where he spent the majority of his life, raising his family there with his wife, Rachel. He is a proud veteran who was also a member of the VFW here in Tyler, Texas. He has been a member of CERT for 12+ years and has participated on multiple events. He brings a passion to help the residents of Smith County with a better understanding for emergency preparation. He is the recipient of East Texas Council of Government Regional Citizen of the Year.

Why do you do it?

I have a heart for service and community. I like to learn things that help during emergency conditions to better help my family and friends and it’s an easy way to transition that knowledge to my community.
