Where did you serve and what did you do?
I am the Commander of VFW Post 2667 and served 23 years in the Army; first time as an enlisted soldier in the Quartermaster field then as a helicopter and airplane pilot. I served overseas in Korea, Hawaii, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait. I was part of the Desert Shield/Desert Storm campaign.
How are you #StillServing?
I have served as the Commander of VFW Post 2667 for 3 years, leading the efforts of the post in veteran and community support. I also served as Post Adjutant as well as District Trustee and Junior Vice Commander. I volunteer at food pantries, QOV presentations and currently manage the Newnan/Coweta County Memorial Day Program.
Why do you do it?
Veteran and Community Support is of the utmost importance to my post. We had a great turnout for our National Day of Service project this year packing 100 bag lunches for homeless Veterans & 25 purses loaded with many items for the female veterans. These items will be delivered to the Outreach Center at Fort McPherson along with many items for their clothes closet. This was a group effort of VFW Post 2667 & Auxiliary, American Legion Post 57 – Newnan, Georgia & Auxiliary & Marine Corps League Det #1325. Also helping were members from the cub scouts Pack 2293, DAR, & Sisters for Society. 38 people in attendance today. We thank everyone who helped.
