How are you #StillServing?
I worked with a local non-profit agency running a disabled veteran program for almost 12 years. In April 2014, I came on board with Olmsted County Veterans Service Office. I hold a master’s degree in Psychology. I have hosted a Post Traumatic Stress Disorder support group for veterans and their family members meeting once a month for the past 10 years and will continue with this outreach while there is a need.
I am a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1215 and Post Service Officer, VFW District One Legislative Officer and the Department of MN VFW Legislative Chair. I am also a life member of Disabled American Veterans, Chapter 28 and the Chapter Service Officer. I have hosted a DAV Women Veteran Gala event for 5 years and a DAV deer hunt for 10 years. I hold memberships in the American Legion Post 92 and the MN 48-2 Combat Veteran Motorcycle Association.
Why do you do it?
As a veteran, I care about giving back to my brothers and sisters. We are our brothers’ and sisters’ keepers because the oath we took to never leave a fallen comrade has no expiration date.
