Where did you serve and what did you do?

Inaugural Tennessee State Veterans Home Murfreesboro Campus 4th of July Cookout Location: Tennessee State Veterans Home Murfreesboro Campus What we did: Our VFW Post along with AMVETS Rutherford Count 325, Student Veterans of America B.R.A.V.O. at MTSU and Cooking with a Veteran held a 4th of July cook out for the residents and staff of the Tennessee State Veterans Home Murfreesboro Campus on July 4th. We had donations of chicken from Tyson Foods in Shelbyville, TN, Humana Insurance provided cookies and brownies, the Bedford County Senior Care provided socks to pass out to the residents. With the support of VFW Post 4575 and the Student Veterans of America B.R.A.V.O. at MTSU we were able to by the home a new Blackstone Griddle to replace there old grills. We had members of the community come out and spend some time with the residents, and even pray over them.

How are you Still Serving?

By supporting our local veterans home, and other veteran organization’s.

Why do you do it?

Because I am a Veteran myself and we need to support each other as we did in the military.
