Where did you serve and what did you do?
I served as an infantry advisor in III Corps, Tay Ninh Province, in 1968-1969. I earned the CIB on 17 December 1968 by surviving an ambush in the Hobo Woods, when we had located a recent base camp. Two NVA came up from a spider hole and opened up on me and my RTO, Sp4 Says. They fired too high and missed us, and the RF troops killed both of them.
How are you #StillServing?
I am on the Fort Logan All Veterans Honor Guard. We have resumed services and have been doing 7-9 services a week at Fort Logan. I am proud that I can honor veterans for their service as they are laid to rest. Families have told us that they appreciate such honors being made for their loved ones. We do services for mostly Vietnam veterans now, but we also do them for WWII and Korean veterans.
Why do you do it?
It gives me a feeling of great honor to honor fellow veterans for their service.
