How are you Still Serving?

“I prayed you’d be here.” Twenty-five years after the Gainesville student murders haunted the community, I attended the remembrance ceremony at the University of Florida campus. As I stared into one of the mothers who lost their daughter, she approached with a hug and whispered those words. I still get a tear with the humble embrace I was so honored to receive.

Why do you do it?

With the blessings of a voice that is still recognized 8 years after I was silenced because I simply spoke the truth, learning about Ernie Pyle while visiting his monument on Okinawa 60 years ago I believe was my inspiration of becoming a communications specialist.
