Where did you serve and what did you do?
I served at Naval Air Station North Island in Coronado, California in two Helicopter Squadrons, HSL-31 and HSL-35. and was also embarked on the USS Cook FF 1083 with HSL-35 Det 3.
I was an Aviation Machinist Mate “AD” Second Class and worked on the SH-2F Seasprite Helo.
How are you #StillServing?
I’m currently a Distribution System Operator Sr, with Oncor Electric Delivery in Texas in the Operations Center.
Translation: We keep the lights on! When they go out, we respond and get them back on by computer or dispatch crews to reroute power, or make repairs. We are there 24/7/365.
Why do you do it?
So many lives depend on us for power. From hospitals, nursing homes, police, fire dispatch centers and more. When the lights go out, we have to be there, lives depend on us and having power can mean so much at the right moment. I’m privileged to work with some of the finest men and women, all dedicated professionals that are highly skilled at their jobs. We will be there until we can’t anymore or this is over.
