Where did you serve and what did you do?
I served 20 years in the Navy, mostly in the Pacific theater. Retired as LCDR in 1997. Since then, I have been helping military families in a number of ways: Teaching career transition courses in Japan, led chapel youth groups for military kids. Now I run Facebook groups to instruct retirees how to use their TRICARE benefits worldwide. We have over 7000 members in our online groups.
How are you #StillServing?
Based on my years of experience guiding military families, retirees, and the medically-retired on using TRICARE benefits, I have written a book to capture all of these lessons. This is the first book that ever lays out in simple terms everything you need to know about how to enroll in TRICARE, choose a plan, find a doctor anywhere in the world, and submit a claim. Hundreds have already found this book to be indispensable.
It can be found on Amazon, in either paperback or Kindle ebook form. Please take a look.
Why do you do it?
Too often, military vets are left to figure out these things on their own. There is a lot of assistance to enroll members into various VA benefit programs, but less help available with TRICARE. This is an amazing benefit once you know how to use it. I did not plan to write a book, but once I found out how few resources are available to those who need it, I just felt compelled to put on paper all the lessons I have learned over the years by advising others on their TRICARE benefits.
