Where did you serve and what did you do?
Vietnam, 1970-71. I was a Scout Dog Handler
How are you #StillServing?
Being one that came home from Nam, I never wanted much to do with Military or Veteran Organizations. I have worked 2 and 3 jobs all my life and I still do. It was in 2008 after my Granddaughters Veteran’s Day Program that I joined VFW Post 1152, mainly to be on the Military rites team, which on avg. was doing 187 Ceremonies a year. Not as many now but we are still well over 125 a year. Now, I am presently in my 8th year as Post Commander. I am very proud of my Post and what we have been able to do and accomplish for Our Veterans, Our Community, and Our Youth. I also have my own non-profit corporation. I am the director of Chapter 3 of the United States War Dogs Association. More to follow on #stillserving dogs
Why do you do it?
As far as the Post, I Love my Post, our members and what we do. As to my Chapter 3, because of my dog “Artus”, I was allowed to come home without a scratch.
