Where did you serve and what did you do?
I served in Afghanistan as a Marine Scout/Sniper and in Iraq as a Private Military Contractor.
How are you #StillServing?
Today, I am the Veteran Outreach Coordinator for the NY Council on Problem Gambling. In my role, I increase awareness of problem gambling in our veteran community and connect those veterans, and their families, who have been negatively impacted by problem gambling behavior, to the treatment services they need.
Why do you do it?
I do this because when I was down and out, struggling with alcohol use disorder, substance use disorder, PTS symptoms, anger, anxiety, and depression, there were other veterans who picked me up and got me back on the road march. It is now my turn to help veterans and their families in need of support. This support has to be reciprocal.
