Where did you serve and what did you do?

I served in Helmand Province, Afghanistan multiple times around 2009-2011.

How are you Still Serving?

I currently work as an Americorps VISTA under campus compact with the University of Montana. I have coordinated the Toys for Tots program for Sanders County, a Martin Luther King Jr Read for Peace event, and a farmer’s market to increase food access in the area. I also work with multiple nonprofit groups helping them with their administration and grant writing. Finally, I am working with a family foundation to help with a community development project for the town of Hot Springs.

Why do you do it?

I do it because I enjoy giving back to the community and because I want to continue to serve a country where everyone has opportunities.
