Why do you do it?
Since serving for 25 years in three (3) different Armed Forces Services, I find that being involved within the Veteran’s communtity and advocating for my Peer Brothers/Sisters in service, gives me a sense of still belonging and serving the Brothers/Sisters that I have come to call my FAMILY.
I feel that even though I have been medically retired since 2014, I can still make a difference in supporting growth and change amongst the current state of affairs within the growing newer Veteran’s coming out of their military service. As well as Honoring the Veterans that have served before me.
I also feel that the newest Servicemembers transitioning from ACTIVE status; no matter whether it be active duty, National Guard, or Reserves, deserve our full support in making this transition, finding the support and help they need and above all maintaining their SPIRIT of their WARRIOR service!
We, as service Members, no matter what branch we served in, should be PROUD to identify as Veterans. I also believe that utilizing the services provided to our Veterans is a benefit that is under-utilized and all Veterans should be made aware of how #STILLSERVIING is the most HONORABLE way to “carry the torch” to the next generation!
