Where did you serve and what did you do?
Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF4-6)
US Army Flightmedic; 1159th MEDCO (AA), 101st Airborne
How are you #StillServing?
I am a Patient Care Technician assigned to an Intensive Care Unity (ICU) at Unity Hospital in Rochester/Greece, NY. I am also pursuing my Bachelor of Science in Nursing through Monroe Community College in Rochester, NY. I live in a Veteran’s Housing Community where I am helping to guide my brothers through this troubled time of crisis as well following the CREDOS “Veterans for Veterans”.
Why do you do it?
To continue to serve the community by using the medic skills I learned in the military, and learning more about the career path I want for my future: Critical Care Nursing.
I feel connected in many ways to my team in the ICU because some of them are veterans, or have family that still serve. I especially feel connected when I am able to take care of any veteran that becomes of a patient in our specialized unit, they find out I am a retired medic and they have my trust!
