How are you #StillServing?
In direct response to the COVID-19 crisis, on Wednesday, April 1, 2020, Post Commander Kimberly A. Napoleon and Members of Wallace C. Schulz/Dwight A. McKinney Jr. Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9931 Bridgeport, MI, in partnership with AMVETS Post 1897, Team Rubicon, Dow VeTs and Freeland Lions Club partnered to serve as a food distribution site in conjunction with Feed America. There were about 20 volunteers that helped distribute food to 300 families.
This is a series of food distributions hoping to help feed families during these uncertain times. The Schulz/McKinney Jr VFW Post 9931 mission still continues in supporting our local community.
Why do you do it?
These are trying times and with many out of work, they have no means of getting food. The schools are closed and for some children, that may be the only meal they receive.
It’s important to help where you are needed and help fulfill the VFW’s mission of community involvement.
