Where did you serve and what did you do?
My length of service time was from 05/73 to 08/93. AE-22, Comnavbase Subic Bay, SBU-XI, LPD-10, NTC/RTC San Diego California, BB-62, BB-63, and Subbase Pearl Harbor Hawaii.
GMG1{SW} USN/Ret.
How are you #StillServing?
Upon my return home, I joined the police department and retired in June of 2017. During my tenure as a police officer, I was the quartermaster of post 810, and I became the adjutant of Post 2294. I am also the Vice President of USS NEW JERSEY VETERANS, Inc., and newsletter editor of the USS MISSOURI Associates, Inc.
As a member of Post 2294 myself and other members are involved with several community events. We feed the vets, produce distribution, and anything that arises in the local of Jersey City due to the fact we are the only post in our fair city.
Why do you do it?
I do it because I enjoy it and get people to smile. Especially when they realize how the smile got there.
I was not very successful in my quest to become an honorary chief petty officer with two tries and one official visit to the MCPON office with my wife. I was thrown back by that and continued on my quest to provide for those who are in need of help.
As a legacy gold life member, a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity and Elk, I have my work cut out for me. I enjoy what I am doing. Thank you for your time. Peace lies at the end of a long harsh road.
