Where did you serve and what did you do?

I served in the US Army from 1989 to 1994. I spent one year in Korea, was deployed with the 24th infantry division to Iraq during Desert Storm, was attached to the 10th mountain division in Somalia in 1993.

How are you Still Serving?

After leaving the army, I went to college and became a youth pastor. After that we moved back to North Carolina and I became a police officer. I started teaching D.A.R.E. and fell in love with teaching students. I left law-enforcement 18 years ago and I've been a teacher ever since!

Why do you do it?

I'll do it because I know there are several students that have trauma and their lives and need someone with my life experience to help them.
