Where did you serve and what did you do?

U.S. Army Infantry 11B & 11M. Served in Germany during the Fall of the Berlin Wall as a Bradley Gunner, and served in the Persian Gulf War as the Pointman.

How are you Still Serving?

I am a combat infantryman that served as the Pointman in the Persian Gulf War with Delta Company 3/7 Infantry, 24th Infantry Division. My wife is also a First Responder and a registered nurse at MD Anderson, Houston, Texas, having served for 21 years now in that capacity. We built a rental cabin near Enchanted Rock in Fredericksburg, Texas, called The Outpost. This cabin is constructed from reclaimed military & first responder buildings & contains hundreds of artifacts that people can touch & explore.

As we have both been through our fair share of heartbreaking experiences, we understand the gaps left behind with mental health care. Our passion & mission is to provide respite care for our veterans, service members, first responders, and for their families & friends. We also serve as an outreach to those that did not serve but want to connect and learn more, or to educate their children, but our primary mission is to prevent veteran homelessness. The cabin is available to anyone who wishes to rent it for any period of time. We have helped many families, and we are very proud to be able to serve our local communities and our beloved America.

Why do you do it?

We can't help it — it's in our blood. Our family has a long history of service to our country with the military, law enforcement, nursing, firefighting, and emergency services. We simply love helping our Heroes.
