Where did you serve and what did you do?
I served in the Kansas and Georgia ANG. I wanted to attend college full time and pursue a full-time career in Law Enforcement. I was deployed stateside for 22 months continuously with Operation Jumpstart on the Southwest border and 14 months as a part of Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Able Union on the continent of Africa. I completed 16 years of service before having a stroke. Apparently no one including me knew there was a 19mm hole in my heart…. I am now partially blind among other things and fully retired on the civilian side. I held the following MOS: 19 D Cav Scout, 19 K M1A1 Armor crewman, 13 P Fire Direction Controller, and the original MOS 19E M60A3 armor crewman. I specialized in reconnaissance, surveillance, and targeting. I also trained foreign troops on foreign soil.
How are you #StillServing?
I still teach wilderness survival.
Why do you do it?
It gives me a purpose to get out of bed……..seriously.
