How are you Still Serving?

I am one of many veterans that are volunteering our time as basketball coaches for the 210 United Panthers AAU Basketball Organization in San Antonio Texas. We teach responsibility and accountability, respect for others and oneself. We emphasize Student/Athlete (education first, sports later). Along the way, they learn how to work together as a team, relying on each other and themselves. And then later, we sneak in some basketball.

Why do you do it?

If we don’t, these young women and men have no future. the majority of them come from broken homes, some are no longer homeless. They now know that there are a group of veterans that love and believe in them. These kids give us hope for the future as we teach them that they are not hopeless.
