A different story. I supported MWD teams from 2008-2022 sending any needed supplies to teams in Germany, Afghanistan, Korea, Guam. My contacts were always via email until the last few years when face book took over at which time the entire process has fallen apart. The last package that I sent to Guam remained at the Post for a few months with no word to me on what had taken place. Then the box was returned to me. Value lost was contents worth $120 and shipping about $80. The box sat on my office floor for a few months until I finally decide to sell the contents at 1/2 price. The money is back in the MWD account which is now at near $5000 just sitting. I have other accounts to support police teams and an expensive memorial project that is in the works. The MWD account just might be used to help that project. I have been a dog trainer for nearly 20 years which AKC competition events.
Why do you do it?
I have 5 dogs with 3 still competing. My 12 year old Golden has been a Therapy Dog for 11 of those years visiting hospitals, nursing homes, schools with talks to campers at other facilities. In 2020this same Golden attended service dog classes from his original service dog kennel and is now certified as my service dog but also with another vest is still active with the therapy visits.
I would still like to assist MWD teams but under the present contact method, it does not seem possible.
Post Commander is Chris Gates 3282 Port Orange but I not cleared this message with him. Also VVA commander same post is Robert Adkins.
