Where did you serve and what did you do?
QM Randy Hansen – US Army, 25 years, 2 tours in Korea
Commander Pat Moran – US Army, 4 years, Vietnam
How are you #StillServing?
Members of De Pere VFW Post 2113 worked in partnership with our adopted US Army Reserve unit, the 432nd Civil Affairs Battalion’s Soldier and Family Readiness Group (SFRG) to collect community donations, then pack and mail care packages to the units deployed soldiers. In the picture (l to r) are VFW Post 2113 Auxiliary President Linda Moran and VFW Post 2113 Commander Pat Moran sorting and packing donated items into the care packages on Saturday, August 12, 2023. Others in the picture are members of the 432nd SFRG and their family members. We collected over $300 in donated care package items, then paid for shipping at $298.80. At the same time Post 2113 is coordinating with the VFW Department of Wisconsin’s 8th District to conduct another care package collection and mailing in September, plus coordinating with the Green Bay Country Club for their members to support another care package drive and mailing at their annual Veterans Golf Outing on Monday, October 3, 2023. Post 2113 QM Randy Hansen was taking the picture.
Why do you do it?
We remember how much value we placed on receiving care packages during our time in service, so paying it forward by supporting our current soldiers and their family members is the least we can do.
