How are you #StillServing?
I am a co-host of a radio show called “The Veterans Hour” on WBLQ 1230 AM and 101.3FM located in Westerly, Rhode Island. My other co-hosts are Bill Siano, PSC and Vietnam Veteran, Ken Burton Sr Vietnam Era Veteran, Dave Lowe GWOT Veteran. We are all Army veterans. Our show includes various guests including town council members, the Director of Veteran Services for Rhode Island and, on one occasion, the Governor of Rhode Island, Gina Raimondo appeared on the show. The show is aired every Tuesday from 1000 to 1100 hours.
Why do you do it?
I, and my co-hosts, volunteer our time because we care for veterans, families of veterans and those who care for veterans. We provide pertinent and up-to-date information over the airwaves. This information is gleaned from local news sources, military news sites, VA letters and information from VFW sources such as the Action Corps Weekly. We do this because we are veterans, we support our veterans and we love our country. What we do is just our way of giving back to the community.
