Millinocket, Maine

Where did you serve and what did you do?

I served in the US Army. I was a 52B power man with training in chemical, biological, and radiological. I served a year in Vietnam, Fort Lewis Washington, and Fort Hood Texas.

How are you Still Serving?

I have served as a school board member, two terms as a town councilor of which i served 5 of those years as chairman. I have served as code enforcement officer for the town of Millinocket and a year as the Interim Town Manager. I serve on the board of trustees at the First Cong church in Millinocket. I have served as chairman of the Regional Technical School for many years. I also served as technical director for the local high school performing arts program.

Why do you do it?

When i returned to civilian life the only way i was able to fight my PTSD was to get involved. I am now 71 and i am still involved in helping my local region. It is the only way i can continue to fight the demons of Vietnam. The local VFW has closed do to the lack of members so i am a member of the local American Legion. I would like to thank all of the Men and Women that have served this Great Country of ours.My oath to serve will only end when my Heart stops beating.
