Where did you serve and what did you do?

Richard served in Vietnam, Desert Storm, and Desert Shield as a OSI Agent.

How are you Still Serving?

Richard has been the foundational rock of our post for many years. He manages and serves as a member of our honor guard, provides flag etiquette classes to our local schools, and was instrumental in planning and executing creating a veterans memorial park on the town square. Richard continuously recruits new members to our post and is always looking for ways to help the veteran community in our local area.

Why do you do it?

Richard serves the VFW as a way to continue to help veterans. The military instilled a sense of brotherhood in Richard that runs very deep and by still serving Rich is able to continue to support his brothers and sisters in Arms. Educating our young people is a passion and providing flag education programs, Rich hopes to foster a patriotic culture in our young people that will perpetuate them to serve in the future.
