Where did you serve and what did you do?

I served as a Firecontrolman aboard two US Navy warships, the USS Ogden and the USS Vincennes. During my six year enlistment, I deployed three times, including to the Persian Gulf during active combat operations and a Law Enforcement Operations deployment to South America and the Caribbean.

How are you Still Serving?

I have the privilege of serving as the national program and management analyst for the larges US Department of Veterans Affairs homeless services program, HUD-VASH. My duties include monitoring the care being provided to over 75,000 formerly homeless Veterans and providing oversight and policy compliance services for over 4,000 VA healthcare providers.

Why do you do it?

I returned to public service after spending 13 years in the private sector. I needed the sense of mission and purpose that I never found outside of the military, and my federal career has given that to me.
