Monument, Colorado

Where did you serve and what did you do?

Iraq, Afghanistan, Horn of Africa, PACOM, EUCOM, NASA Support. I was a C-5 Loadmaster for most of my USAF career.

How are you Still Serving?

I co-founded and currently lead the Bold Face Fly Fishing Foundation, teaching current and former military, 1st responders, and healthcare workers how to flyfish for stress relief through one on one mentorship and mentor training in 11 states across the US. I also teach/speak publicly through seminars on veteran and 1st responder identity reconstruction while I'm pursuing my masters degree in clinical mental health counseling, so I can earn my license as a professional veteran counselor in Colorado.

Why do you do it?

Fly Fishing has been a passion of mine throughout my life, and brought a lot of stress relief and fellowship throughout my military career. But during my career, I went through a bunch of traumas that resulted in PTSD and TBIs. It was the combination of a veteran therapist, my fly fishing tribe, and my faith that helped me rediscover my identity and begin exploring a "new me", and finding new ways to serve my brothers in sisters in ALL public service uniforms.
