Where did you serve and what did you do?

We served our community by going to the VA and local cemetery wiping down headstones and picking up trash. We also went to the Veterans Memorial Park in Glennville and pick up trash and wiped the monument at the park

VFW Post 8379 Hosts Day of Service Honoring Local Veterans Glennville, GA – May 3, 2025 On Saturday, May 3rd, the members of Glennville VFW Post 8379 came together for a Day of Service to honor and remember the veterans of their community through acts of care and stewardship. The Post led a coordinated effort to clean and restore local memorial sites, including wiping down over 200 headstones and collecting trash at the Glennville City Cemetery, the VA State Cemetery, and Barnard’s Veterans Park. This day was not only a tribute to the fallen but also a living example of community leadership. Among the volunteers was a dedicated Glennville Scout, who joined the effort as part of her community service hours. Her support served as a reminder of the importance of youth engagement in honoring the legacy of those who served. “We had a wonderful time serving and giving back to Glennville,” said Post Commander Sean McCormick. “This was about more than just cleanup—it was about preserving the memory of those who came before us and ensuring their final resting places reflect the honor they deserve.” VFW Post 8379 extends its gratitude to all who participated and encourages the community to continue finding ways to support and remember those who served. 4o
