How are you Still Serving?

Redwood County Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #2553 recently participated in the National VFW Day of Service. The fifth annual VFW Day of Service is part of the VFW's "Still Serving" campaign that unites veterans across America around a common goal of showing the nation the impact veterans make in their communities. Activities must occur during the month of May. With the completion of the " VFW Day of Service" the Post is now eligible for All-American Status.

VFW Post members helped with the Redwood Falls Sportsmen Club and Redwood County Sheriffs Dept's Youth Firearms Safety field day. The field day was held May 2nd at the Redwood Falls Sportsman Club. Redwood Co VFW purchased over $400.00 in 1st aid and survival items for the student's personal survival kits. In addition, setting up the seven required DNR stations, providing safety and 1st aid observation were tasks done by VFW members. Josh Day, VFW member and MN DNR Certified Instructor helped conduct the .22 Rifle live fire exercise. 30 youth or 1st time hunters received their certifications and will be able to participate in upcoming hunting seasons.

Why do you do it?

Blessed to be in a Country that values it's veterans. VA 80% disabled, try to give back my good 20% to faith, family and fellow Veterans.
