Where did you serve and what did you do?
I served in the USAF from 1980-1984 as an L.E. Specialist. I served in Kunsan, Korea from 1908-1981. The remainder of my service was at K.I. Sawyer AFB in Michigan.

I am a PTSD Service Connected Veteran. My ESA chocolate lab, a rescue from the Detroit Humane Society, keeps me stable by keeping me in the moment.
I run a public Facebook page called “The Homeless Detroit Veterans Advocate Project” where I collect donations of new and gently used clothing as well as personal hygiene items to pass out to our homeless and low income veterans here in Detroit. There is absolutely no money requested or accepted for what I do.
Sweetie (my dog’s name) usually accompanies me and is so friendly, I allow others to pet her and play with her. I’ve had countless veterans tell me they feel better after doing so with Sweetie.
Why do you do it?
I’m a formerly homeless veteran due to my many years of drug addiction (coming up on 6 years clean September 1, 2021) who knows the struggle and is simply trying to help other veterans who are in the same boat I once was in.
