Active commander in the DAV and the American Legion. Senior Vice Commander in the VFW. Make a Wish, Salvation Army. Conducted many funerals and supporting our veterans and families. Flags for schools. All that is unserviceable. Providing transportation to those in need. Advice and help with disability claims (I am a licensed Service Officer). Benches for our city veteran park. Wreaths for Pearl Harbor memorial (we play taps and place a wreath in the river). March in the parades honoring veterans families and heroes. I speak at events and schools when asked. I am still serving.
Why do you do it?
The look in their eyes and seeing life flow through their bodies. When they are inspired and when it grows throughout our communities. Priceless and profound. I love walking the walk, not talking the talk. And I lead by example. My price is knowing in real-time that I helped change people’s lives for the better .I love the word SELFLESS. Cheers and good health to all. Still serving.
