How are you Still Serving?

Had 20 year Civilian Career at Edgewood Arsenal, Dover AFB and Tobyhanna Army Depot, as Budget Analyst, Contracting Specialist and Management Analyst. Retired from my civilian career but continue to serve as an adult scouter since 1981 in various positions and councils depending on where I was stationed. Currently I am the Charter Organization Representative for Troop sponsored by post 7069, District Committee Member, Camp master at Rodney Scout Reservation (Del-Mar-Va Council), Merit Badge Counsellor, Range & Target Activities Certified and Staff for 2026 National Jamboree as a muzzleloading instructor. Additionally, I coach National Archery in the Schools Program at Tunkhannock Area School District (last 6 years), Scholastic Action Shooting program (last 5 years), Scholastic Clay Target Program (last 2 years). PA Hunter Education Instructor (last year) and Volunteer with Raised at Full Draw (hunter education and bow hunter education for youth) in PA for last 2 years. I am a NRA Instructor/Training Counsellor and USA Archery Level 2 Instructor/Trainer providing classes for adults and youth.

Why do you do it?

I love to teach the youth, but I also like teaching the adults who are willing to teach the youth. It is very important to give back to the community. I have over 50 years of experience in scouting, 40 years as an adult leader (to include 4 years as a Scout Leader in British Scout Association)
